My name is Shon Gerber and I am a Cybersecurity professional who has been serving in the Information/Cyber Security Field for over 18 years. I am a retired Air National Guard Lt. Col. whose career started as a Weapons Systems Officer (WSO) flying B-1B Bombers (Yeah Baby!). As the military changed, I was provided the opportunity to lead teams of highly skilled military hackers on missions to expose information security gaps and then training personnel on ways to best address and correct the issues that were discovered.
I now work as a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for one of the largest private companies in the world. I provides guidance, direction, and recommendations how to best protect and secure my employer’s internet presence along with highly sensitive information around the globe.
I am a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and have achieved the certification for Legal Issues in Information Technology and Security (GLEG). Basically, I am a bit of a nerd!
If that isn’t enough, I thought my career was going to be an airline pilot so I am also a Commercial Pilot and Instructor. I have been incredibly blessed to be married to my wife Trish for 24 years. We have seven children, three biological and four born from their hearts that yearn to answer the call of “caring for the orphans.” This calling has taken them to China three times and once to Uganda.
We have been blessed beyond belief by the adoption of our kids.
ShonGerber.com and ReduceCyberRisk.com was created to offer up a practical and actionable guidance for students wanting to pass the CISSP Exam and grow and enhance their cybersecuriy career.
Bottom-line: I want to provide you the skills you need to pass the CISSP Exam the FIRST time!
